A new residence built partially on the foundation of an existing ranch house in Los Altos. The house is stretched along the top axis of a triangular one-acre hillside site. The house is organized as a long cathedral-ceiling clerestory volume housing public spaces and a two story volume grouping the private spaces. The home explores the interplay between interior and exterior through the use of glazed openings and large custom folding doors. Additionally, the house wraps around multiple terraced courtyards that culminate in a swimming pool below the main house.
