The shared living areas of a one story house comprising cramped and dark rooms are exploded to create an unencumbered visual and spatial connection along longitudinal and transverse axes. This flowing field contains a variety of function-specific, free-standing objects offering formal cues without being dogmatic. Also, a wing with two studies is added to afford the entire building proportional balance while creating a patio bounded on three sides. This semi-encastre outdoor living area blurs the hard boundary of building envelope to further reinforce flow, both physical and visual.
